Welcome to my home page. I will try to keep it updated through the year. Usually I will always have current unit assignment sheet in a form you can download. Also, the syllabus will be available, as well other other important documents. In addition, I will supply some pictures of boats I've made, fishing rods I've built, and nice fish I've caught.
I hope all are happy to be back for 2011-2012. I had a great summer working in New Hampshire at Camp Brookwoods and Deer Run. Besides fishing, I also play baseball, basketball, soccer, and football with our campers. Brookwoods is a wonderful Christian camp set on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. This was my 18th summer I spent there.
My highlight of the summer was launching my new boat. It is a 16' West Coast surf dory designed by nexus marine out of Washington state. The boat is powered by a 20 HP four stroke and is a great fishing boat. Building your own boat where you the builder cut and attach every single part gives a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Make sure and see it on my page about fishing and boats.
This summer found my reading list absent of math books. This is unusual for me. I read a couple of books by C.S. Lewis who always writes in such a way to inspire thought about the nature of good and evil. Also, since my son was in Coronado, California training with the Navy SEALS I read some books about them. After reading them my wife asked if she should read also, and I replied, no.
I'm excited to see all my Walker friends and I hope all look forward to a good year. I am here to help young people learn math and I look forward to getting to know not only my new students, but also their parents.
